Hi when I log in from home I get the message that the administrator has bannd my IP address and I am unable to view the forums, though I can do so from my Office. MY ISP says that my IP is dynamic and that they have no problem from their end. Can you please help me log into the POTN forums. Please let me know what I should be doing? Would be great if the administrator can show me the solutionCheersRamesh from India

Hi Ramesh.
When you get home can you look up your IP address and let us know what it is?
You can do this by going to www.whatsmyip.org. Then send the IP address to any of the Moderators (preferably one who is online at the time) here with a Private Message.

The problem is that that two IP blocks from India has been vigorously and professionally spamming POTN and we really need to have it blocked for now. Your home IP regrettably seems to fall into those "bad" blocks. It is quite hard to unban you from that block as your IP changes dynamically, if you'd have a fixed home IP with that ISP I could do it easily. With dynamic IP there no way of knowing which IP you will be next, within that IP block.
So, I'm very sorry but as long as there are people who attack POTN professionally in India and China, I will block down those IP ranges to protect POTN. I always try to do it so that active POTN members will not be affected, but in this case it was not possible.
