After weeks of never quite getting past the 'go to checkout' button on the B&H website tonight I finally took the plunge. Just ordered a 1DMk2 and a 24-70L f2.8 lens! I had made up my mind to wait a while to see whether Canon announced a new 1D model but I'm fairly confident that adding this to my current collection will see me good for a fair few years of happy snapping. I was going to sell my 20D but I'm so impressed with the EF-S 10-22 lens that I'm going to try and hang on to it and use it for landscapes. I'm going to sell my Tamron 28-75 and have the 24-70L and the 70-200L on the 1D2.
Now all I've got to do is wait for that nice UPS van to show up :D :D

Congrats. You will not regret it. With 3 minutes (or less) of handling the camera you will know what everyone means when they talk about 1-series cameras.

Great choice. Expensive, but very-much a worthwhile camera. And, the 24-70 is a very good matchup on the 1D2's sensor in terms of useability. It gives you respectable wide and modest long, all at f/2.8.
