Another common subject: Big Ben. This one has the Eye of London gazing on it. ;)
1000 pixels wide really does not do justice to all of the detail in the night images the Canon 1Ds MkII can capture. In the original, the details in the tiny shields up in the top green light are very evident.
Some people criticize the Canon 17-40mm "L" lens, claiming it is too soft. I used Av mode with an f/11 aperture. I find that f/8-f/11 gives the sharpest result with zooms for landscapes/cityscapes than extreme apertures.
