Here is one of my first shots with the 20D and EF 70-200 F/2.8L USM

Technically it is a good photography. For me it lacks something. I would have tried to fit more of the falls into the image to give it the perspective of the falls.

This one has more of the falls but I think it needs more of the water leading up to it.

Second one is better, I think the snow adds something. First one is the same shot a milion tourists (including me) have taken.

Maybe capture a greater DOF. Looks like the closest water is in focus when it's all water, so there's no reason not to increase the DOF.
