I'd be interested to know what computers (with specs) you're using in order to edit your 5dMKII video files.
Do your files playback smoothly? Do you feel that your computer is up to the task? What would you recommend?
cheers,
Ben

I use to have a 1.6ghz celeron and a 19in offbrand lcd. That was my computer since almost 8th grade. It was fine with my rebel xti, but once i got my 5d it just didn't cut it. I'm still at home(18 years old), but I have a great job making $16 a hour, and scholarships so it is a bit easier to save faster. I did a revamp on black friday and I got a 30in lcd, quad core, 4870 radeon gfx, ect. 5d II is on the way, but should have no problem with the videos since i can already watch 1080p clips easy.

Not sure of computer specs (and I'm at work, so can't check now) but the raw video file is jumpy for me when played back. However, I hear it is a problem for most everyone and you have to resize it for a smooth playback. So, that's what I've been doing for now.

My 2 ghz Core 2 Duo Mac Mini drops a few frames every now and again, but the audio is doubled. My 2.4 ghz Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro and Core 2 Quad hackintosh play the videos just fine. I have edited in both iMovie and Final Cut Express just fine on the C2Q, but have not tried with my MacBook Pro (I suspect it would be fine, just slower).
