hi everybody.. ive been doing some research on syncing flashes to the camera body.. i know that there are a variety of different ways to sync them...for example..pocket wizards, optical slaves..and so on.

the cheaper alternative is to use sync cables... i currently have a canon 30d and a sunpak 383 super.. i know its said i need a pc cord to sync them...

affter doing some shopping around.. i learned that there are a bunch of different kinds of sync cables... can anybody push me in the right direction to get this flash/camera combination running??

if this is a post that has been asked a numerous amount of times..im sorry.. just kindly link me to a different thread. thanks alot!

Assuming you have the short PC cord that comes with the Sunpack 383, all you need is another (longer) PC cord.

You need one with a male connector on one end and a female connector on the other. They are available in various lengths. 15 ft. or longer is typical.

actually i just have the flash itself..a friend of mine gave it to me.. so all accessories that came with the flash is non existent.

Have a look here. Good information and they even carry some of the cords.

I have ordered from flashzebra before and Lon (the owner?) is very helpful and will answer any questions you may have.

Here's another example to consider:
A hotshoe adapter like this:

And a screwlock PC cord like this:

A hotshoe adapter can be used on most flash units, and the screwlock PC connector is much more reliable than the traditional PC connector.

thanks alot!

just for clarification.. the "Female Hotshoe to Miniphone Jack" will be put on the flash..which is connected to the camera by the "PC to Miniphone" cord??

Exactly.
