It was raining today (we really need it so it's hard to complain) so I decided to do some more closeup photography. I really wanted to do some flowers but nothing jumped out at me when I went to look for some (I think they are getting wise to my walking around with a pair of scissors in my hand :D) so I picked up some strawberries at the store instead.
These were taken with my 10D and 24-70 2.8L at ISO 100 1/100th f18 in a light tent with 3 lights. One on each side and one with a snoot next to my camera. I was dropping it into a canister of soda water.

Pity it wasn't Dom Perignon the strawberry was dropped in. The golden color would have been so much better, don't you know.
<sniff>
LOL
one of the better shots I've seen here. 8-)

Thanks for looking and for the comments... hmm golden color, huh? I'll have to give that some thought to see what I can come up with next time. :D
I'm going to try for some angle on the strawberry next time. And I'm going to look a little closer at the green on top to find one that doesn't have any brown like this one does. I didn't catch that until it was pointed out to me. I think this was one of the first crops out of Calf as they weren't that sweet. I'm sure the Oregon strawberries will be better. :D

That's cool, Mike ... well done! I saw a similar thing done in a magazine (Popular Photography?) ... except they used a slice of orange, I believe. Been meaning to give it a try since I saw the article. Again ... well done.

its really good, may have value as a stock image. i can just see it in summer food,/cuisine/lifestyle editorials. i have an overwelming wish to see it about 50% closer tho so you can see really the texture & hairs in the strawberry's skin and the pips standing out pin sharpness.

Thanks for looking and thanks for the comments. I'd love to see others give it a try and add your own touch to it. This is how we all get ideas ourselves. I've got some more myself but I've not made it to the store yet to pick up some more items to dunk. :D
Thanks again.
