I placed a comment on photosig: that white sky is the only problem. Otherwise, I appreciate your sense of diffused, filtered light.

P.S. You don't need to post in both Galleries and the Critique Forum here. We'll figure it out, and galleries are really for galleries, not individual photos... :D

The two strong of elements of photographic interest in your photograph are;
(1) the trees against the sky and, (2) the mist.

However, on their own, these are not enough to turn this image into a majestic moment in time. Likewise, the framing does little to freeze that moment in a memorable way, as it does not ground your mountain in forest or coastal space. What you have in both your posts is a hint of super mood that can make an image soar. What you need now is a better subject and possible more synergistic color.

As for hints at how to think about a better subject, consider searching:
..1: This site for Clio's shot across smog filled mountains in California,
..2: The shot on the exhibition resouce (the formal exhibit part of this site) that shows the sun rising with a canoe in the foreground
..3: a few shots on the shutter feaks/bugs site by a Dutch photographer that covers all of these bases in one image.

Would a polarizing filter have helped here...to cut the glare and sharpen up the trees?
