I've been asked to take a shot for the animal ambulance service in our country.
Since Swans are the biggest troublemakers over here, i thought it was pretty obvious to take a shot of a Swan!
light was perfect, i burned the background because there was a duck which was distracting. also darkened the image because i think it looks a lot more dramatic.
please let me know what you think, is it too dark, not detailed enough, etc.
anything that could help me! appreciated!

I'm not sure the ambulance service will want you making swans look like serial killers: this thing looks angry and dangerous ;-P. More seriously, I consider eye contact important for people and animals, and your bird's right eye's lacking any light to define it and allow the viewer to lock in on the "face". The left cheek's blown. I like the way you've captured the length and grace of the neck, and the general composition. Blackening the background's good, but the image isn't quite adding up against my idea of what your client might want. Cheers, Tony

Wow! That's a sinister-looking bunch of feathers.
I like the shot. The under exposed part of its face lends to an even more sinister appearance.
The sharpness and saturation makes it a winner for me. I'm thinking I might like it less if the shadows had more exposure. I'm liking what the under exposed area brings to the statement.

Thanks! i've processed the picture a few times and also think that these underexposed shadows look better :)

great shot, but I agree with Tonydee
the swans right eye is too dark and his left cheek (if swans have cheeks?) is blown out. I do think the image has good dramatic effect though.
