Hopefully someone can assist with this query...

I have a job next week requiring a short zoom I deally with IS, I am also wishing to bin my Sigma 17-35 EX )- possibly the worst lens I have ever owned.

The following two ideas are on the shortlist, anyone care to comment on the quality of the 17-85 IS vs 28-135 IS or..... 17-85 IS vs Sigma 17-35 at widest end?

Option One
Canon 17-40 L (Handy for wedding groups) and Canon 28-135 IS

Option 2
Canon 17-85 IS

Option two is around £400 cheaper.....

Often lenses will be used wide open, this is where the Sigma 17-35 really suffers on quality towards the edges.

If anyone has any other suggestions I'd welcome them.

Many thanks

Chris

Without knowing what camera it is going on, everything is conjecture.

My thoughts also.

Will be used on a 20D.

17-40mmL

You know you want better than the Sigma you have,. so you have allready distinguished yourself of a man of obvious taste.. why settle? Just get the 17-40mm :)
