I was using al servo last the other night and enjoyed it's capabilities. I was tracking my daughter before she rolled the ball down the lane and captured her sitting down and watching the ball. I thought it was a funny shot, Al servo did a very nice job tracking the bowlers it was pretty cool. I'm not sure if I needed it but I used it anyway.

I like to use al servo even when taking pictures of still things because I shake so much. Helps sometimes.

What a sharp crisp photo! The only thing I would offer for advice is to crop out the right side of the photo and a bit of the left side of the photo. Instead of a 6 x 4 shot, make it 4 x 6. Just my $0.02.

Thanks for sharing!

IMHO it's a "you had to be there and know them" type photo. Get rid of the ball chute and make her bigger in the frame without losing the pins and maybe you have something. Ai servo was unnecessary IMHO, she's not moving much where she it.

I agree it's a family shot. But, in my defense how in the heck do you know how much movement was going on before that shot. My daughter moves 100 miles per hour. So how can you say Al servo isnt nessecary? And please remember I wasnt using a flash so the shutter speed wasnt all that fast. Just my 2 cents.. I agree on the compostion I didnt do any cropping. I just thought it was a fun little shot.. I didnt expect any accolades. I just wanted to show that I thought that AL servo performed well for me. But, your right, at that instance I didnt need it. But what do you want me to do, change it to one shot after she squats down? LOL

No need for "in my defense", I was just offering an opinion. No harm using AI servo especially since she will have taken a run up, which is what it's for.

Yo, I can dig it man!! I will say one thing about that particular picture. It captures real life emotion and that I dig. That was an honest shot..

I think the picture speaks volumes. Beyond a "family shot". Would have been fantastic if you could have framed it from right behind the girl(no ball return), but of course you have no way of knowing beforehand you're going to have this opportunity. But you have my accolades!

Personally, I think the whole thing works everything ads to the overall image. As far as the servo goes, can't see the need for it in this pic.

Thanks guys! Yea, I was sitting down with a beer with my camera around my neck when I saw her squating. That was when it's good to have the 20D. The camera was sleeping but came to life as soon as I pressed the shutter button. I agree that I could have been in a much better postion. In case anyone is wondering? She hit one pin!! Of course thanks to the bumper! LOL
