Ok I tried to make this one look almost like it would in space with extremely deep shadows and harsh lighting that you would get with no atmosphere to diffuse light. OF course you can't Quite escape the whole Plastic model thing, but... what do you think?

#2 works better, but maybe it would be nice to see a very dark blue background? Ian

I don't know... I could give it a try, but blue implies atmosphere.
