I loaded my pics from the card to my desktop and I end up with CR2 files that p-shop will not recognize. What do I do?

p-shop? As in Photoshop? What version? If it's PS CS, then download the latest ACR plug-in from www.adobe.com. If it's an older version on PS, then you'll either need to use the Canon software that came with your camera to convert RAW to TIFF or JPEG or get some other 3rd party software to do the conversion.

ACR as in Acrobat? I am using PSCS, but am used to getting CRW files from my old rebel.

If you are using a Windows system, download a copy of RawShooter Essentials 2005 while it is still free. It is the best way I have found to convert CR2 files to TIFF or JPEG that image processing programs can use.

ACR is Adobe Camera Raw.
Your rebel did produce CRW raw files, but the 20D produces CR2 files in RAW. You will probably need the update for adobe camera raw to be able to process these.

As RichardtheSane mentioned, you need to get the latest version of the ACR plug-in - version 2.4 - from the Adobe web site.
