Dont know it this is the right place to post this but here it is. I was reading through Popular Photography tips and tricks and came across a topic "Case Closed" A $25.00 Task Force Aluminum Tool Case at Lowes. So i went and bought one and consider it well worth it. It has a shoulder strap locks foam padding that can be configured to fit your needs. I was able to fit my 20D with 24-70L attached, Tamron 70-210 2.8 IF, 50 1.8, Promaster 19-35mm, 580EX, Tamron 1.4 TC, batteries and chargers
Pictures not that great taken with old 1.3 meg camera

Ive been thinking about doing something like this as well, but not sure about its mobility.
How do you find it?

Lowes huh? That same case was at "Sam's" club about 3 years ago,. I bought FOUR.. gave two away as gifts,. and kept two for cases to bring ... er.. things to the target range. Perfect for that purpose. Sam's has never stocked them since.
I don't have a need for a camera hard case,. but it's good to know where I can lay hands on these again,. for $25.00 there an absolute steal! Everyone else charges at least $40.00

I went to Lowe's today and checked it out. Looks pretty well made for a $25.00 unit. I'll pick one up tomorrow. I am between this and a Pelican case. I'll probably invest in a good Pelican case when I travel, but for now, this should do.

Visited my neighborhood Lowe's this afternoon, and picked up one of the $24.95 aluminum cases. Comfortably holds my DReb with grip (lying flat on back), a 50mm 1.8, a 28-135 IS, a Sigma 70-300 APO, an 85mm 1.8, a 18-55 EF-S, and a 420EX. This is a great bargain. Thanks for the tip.

Here is snap (with G3) of my case loaded...now if only I had some white lenses, and Phil had already delivered my red POTN strap...what a shot that would have been.

God I hope not! It could be worse than Texas Pride. They had to make the can thicker to hold that brew. No telling what it did to stomach linings? Guess that's why they stopped it.

Just wondering how you guys shaped the foam to suit your equipment.
Cheers,
Jeremy.

My husband got his new 20D this week and said he wanted to keep his gear in a hard case. I remembered seeing this and other threads on POTN, so we headed off for Lowe's. Jim was extremely pleased to get such a nice case at this price. It pays to read the forum ... thanks for the tip, DSmith!

Josh... There is another thread with more on this case and some good pictures, if you're interested. I don't know how to link it here but if you do a search for "lowe's" it will be near the top of the list. I think you can order them on-line at www.lowes.com
