Hey all,

This last year I've been attempting macros with 100mm, 40D and Rebel XTi. Most of the time i've run into issues with the sunlight, or flash, bleeding away the quality. Most of my shots now are RAW, which I may be over-editing, or editing poorly. Any ideas on improvement areas -- settings, editing, lighting, or other, would be great. Thanks!

These look pretty good.
Try to give bugs more room in the shot in the direction they are looking- this takes them off center and makes for a more pleasing composition (like #2).

agree ^
It looks to me like the dragonfly was overexposed a bit, then over saturated in PP to compensate... but I could be wrong... also would have liked a bit more DoF on that one... smaller aperture (or you could try a stack)
