Shooting in portrait orientation does not suit all sports. I mainly use it if I have a front page to do. However for bikes, the effect can be quite dramatic, giving the picture far more impact. Here are three examples from this last weekend:

Next time you are shooting bikes, give it a try.

It does add another dimension to the shot. Great as always.

Really Nice shots KennyG, I like the composition and colors.
Can I ask what Body, lense, and EXIF was for these.
I just got my 20D Recently and will be shooting more come spring and am learning.

Nice shots, although maybe lacking some "looking space"?

"looking space"? True but, considering the speed of the subject, the length of the lens & the difficulty in putting it all together, I'm certainly willing to "overlook" that minor departure from a perfect aesthetic. So I'll mark the shots down to a 9.99 out of 10. ;-)
