View Full Version : Test shot with my new tripod

Went out shooting this morning for the first time with my new Manfrotto 055MF4 Magfiber Pro Carbon Fiber Tripod and Acratech Ultimate Ballhead.

It was extremely windy with sudden gusts raging down the mountainside. I almost got blown over, but my tripod didn't budge. I think the test was a success. Here is my best shot from the lot.

Thanks! It's Mount Fuji and was taken from a place called Asagiri Heights.

I love the Acratech head. I have it on a Gitzo CF tripod, and the combination is really stellar. It wouldn't be ideal, but I'd have no real concerns about using that with my big lenses. I'm also in the process of replacing all my Bogen/Manfrotto heads with Arca/Swiss QR systems.

all i know is that dont zoom at the sun at 300mm, your going to be seeing black for awhile lol

I love the Acratech head.
Isn't it great!!? Makes my old one seem like a cheap plastic toy.
