The first time I saw these guys they really interested me. Maybe it was two drummers thing or maybe it was the groove they found and were able to lock into. Maybe it was because they were opening for the Vines and there was a certain something in the air?

This time around however I thought the opposite. The two drummers did nothing but confuse the audience, the grooves they "locked" into were long, boring and stupidly loud. When the second drummer got a sax out I thought things may take a change for the better; not so: the sax was so detuned and so loud it may as well have been another guitar?! Hardly the kind of chilled out music suitable for new years day hangovers...

The crowd dissolved into only a handful by the end, and I left thinking how are these guys our best export South Australia has?

But that didn't stop me doing the best job i could:

I like #6 myself.

Also not a fan of #4, but you ask 10 people you are going to get 10 different opinions. Opinions are like A**holes, everyone's got one.

#1 and #3 are great. Mind sharing some exif data? Specifically what shutter speed were you shooting at to freeze action in such a low light condition? I'm assuming high iso?

hey man, no sweat.

the exif data for those two was identical:

1/50 sec f/2.8 ISO 1600

i shoot all my live events at 1600, but vary the shutter between 1/30 and 1/60. i very rarely deviate from f/2.8 although depending on how many on stage i may...
