A few shots of my wife. I used a cybersync fired 383, an 85mm 1.8 and a 5d mk2 for these. This was supposed to be a maternity shoot, but I realized I didn't know exactly how to do that. Time to research on POTN for poses and whatnot.
Would appreciate any criticisms you guys might have. Thanks!

Maybe it's just me, but she looks sad. You were probably going for contemplative, but sadness is what's coming through.

I second that opinion.

I have to agree, usually new moms want to look happy in their pics, not really unhappy.
Need More Belly :-)
For a maternity shoot, I'd like to see the belly in the pics, not just head shots. The one that does have the belly, it's too dark and has no definition so it really doesn't stand out at all. It is only by where her hands are place that you can actually tell that there is a belly there.

man...i hate to be a bandwagoner, but I agree with the above comments....My 1st impression before seeing any of the comments was that she looked sad. If you have the time I would recommend a reshoot with your wife to get more pleasing expressions. So 20 years from now your son or daughter isnt looking at these saying "why is mom sad"
shot #1 has nice focus on the eyes...imho the fence to her right is a distraction from an otherwise nice shot.
shot #3 is a keeper. good tone, nice focus, nice pose (except cutting her off at the elbows), but it doesnt really say "pregnancy shot"....
good luck with the shots and with the new baby...CONGRATS! :D

#3 is the best but I agree she looks sad or not into it

I think she was trying to look "contemplative", but I can definitely see the sad look.
We took some more today, and I kept telling her "Smile so the internet people don't think I beat you." :) I'll post the shots later.
Thanks for the feedback, the sad look never even occurred to me.

"the internet people don't think I beat you" LOL Funny!!
She's so beautiful, congratulations!
Maybe if she was wearing white with a darker background her belly would show up more, and maybe make her laugh a real laugh before you take the pictures.. like tickle or bring up a funny subject to get her to relax...just an idea :)
Thank you for sharing. Please share more in the future.
