My parents are selling our house, so i did a quick run around with the camera taking a fw pictures.

We presented them to our estate agent so they could be put with the house advert. H was very impressed (hardly difficult he came with a small Point and Shoot).

They have offered me a job in the near future to go round and take photos for there adverts.

I believe this is called real estate photography? Something i have no clue about.

Could i please have some advice on:

Kit to use
Technique
Post progressing

I'd love to be able to replicate images as good as these http://coloradosprings.vicaso.net/gallery/samples

Any help would be greatly received

It seems that the kit you have is good enough for their needs if they hired you. In terms of technique, don't shoot with direct overhead sun. It produces harsh shadows. Morning or late afternoon light is more likely to light up the house. A shift-perspective lens might be useful. However, you can adjust this in Photoshop. Better to shoot from across the street instead of wide angle so as to keep lines somewhat parallel and perpendicular.

Rich,

The equipment you have will be able to do a good job.

To get photo's like the web site you mentioned, you'll need to be able control light and that takes time perfecting. Start taking pictures and enjoy the extra spending money....

Thanks for the advice so far, very valued!

What's a shift prospective lens?

It's a very good wage if they take me on after a trial!

I correct myself. It's either perspective control or shift/tilt lens. More info at this link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perspective_control_lens

In a nutshell, if you stand at the base of building with a wide angle lens and shoot looking up, the vertical lines will not be perpendicular to the ground. A perspective control lens has an adjustment that allows you to straighten the lines.

Maybe get a russian TS lens, and an ultrawide of your choice

Then to get the light like that all you have to do is HDR, pretty simple, take a bunch of pictures, under and over exposed, then merge them together in photoshop or photomatix...

Oh and don't forget a CPL for the windows

Yep, cuts reflections, don't want yourself and tripod in the window :)
