Hi all. I wanted an old newspaper photo kind of look here. What do you think?

PS. I managed to distort the image badly somehow. And cut the top part off. Ok, end of disclaimer. :D
Edit: An updated version with less distortion and better highlights as Bob suggested!

Except for the uneven lighting, it's an excellent shot. You might be able to burn in the overly bright highlights on the ground floor.

I think you got what you wanted. Looks like an old photo for sure.

The whites are too bright and theres to much contrast...Also when paper ages it gets a dingy yellow.
Theres a proof function in photoshop that will render more realistic look...It kills photos, just like the newspaper does.;)

Resolution is too good and it has too much contrast. Old newspaper photos have terrible resolution and very flat tonality.
How this? I adjusted output in levels to flatten tonality, added a Gaussian blur to mess up the resolution, and a yellow color cast.

There seems to be a complete mismatch here in the way we are interpreting the OP.
An "old newspaper photo kind of look" would have to be a rotogravure. That's all there was in the 30's through to the 60's. Your picture is consistent with that because the rotogravure pictures in newspapers of that era were typically in sepia, had a very good range of tonality and contrast and had excellent resolution that was better than any screened photos.
Some of the comments above seem to be confused about what is meant by "old newspaper photo kind of look", which has nothing to do with poor resolution or low contrast or becoming yellowed with age.
I would recommend having a look at Rotogravure in Wikipedia.
