G'Day all.
Spent a bit of time last week observing and photographing ducks (hence the new avatar :-) ). These are semi-wild ducks in a pond in a city park. They are Pacific Black Ducks (Anas superciliosa), native to Australia.

The first has a nice reflection (two headed duck :-) ).
EOS300D + EF75-300mm II at 240mm.ISO 100. 1/250sec f8.

The second shows a behaviour which I observed a few times, and appears to be some type of "stretching exercise" of the wings. May be some sort of territorial display or threat or something too (but didn't seem to be directed at anything in particular).
EOS300D + EF75-300mm II at 300mm.ISO400. 1/800 sec f8.

The third photo is more "wing stretching"

EOS300D + 75-300 II at 300mm.ISO 100. 1/200 sec f8.

The fourth photo is of three juvenile Wood Ducks (Chenonetta jubata), also native to Australia. These were more timid than the black ducks and I couldn't get as close as would have liked :-).

I really like the second one. That's some interesting color in the wing.
