I need to make this picture of my grandmother look as good as possible as it's going to be put on her gravestone, I scanned the original at 1200dpi and have reduced it in Photoshop. As you can see, the quality is about as bad as it gets. Is ther any way to make the picture any better?
It seems to be a bit better if you add a blue tint to it, but I thought I'd post the original in case anyone actually knew what they were doing :o
Thanks :)
(Apologies for the size)

It's really hard to make a soft photo look too much better. I applied Kodak's ASF filter ROC Pro, a touch here and there with athe healing tool and a Miranda sharpening. Five minutes max.

Rich:
You might have a bettr response on this one if it gets into the Post Processing forum.
See if the Mod can move it for you.

If this photo is important to you then post it on retouhpro.com as mickle suggested. They like a challenge.

It looks like there's a lot of "noise". Maybe you could run it through Noiseware before sharpening it. Sorry, my only suggestion I can think of:cry:

Hi Rich,
Had another try at it, and this is the best I can come up with.

Thanks very much for that, we used the last one (after toning her gleaming teeth down a bit)
