This shot has escaped me for quite some time. Finally made some time to get out there.
I'm going back and forth on whether to crop some of the sky out or leave it as is.
C&C always welcome and appreciated.

Personally I think I would crop out some of the sky. There also appears to be a slight amount of camera shake. I don't know if you had it on a tripod or not. If you like a lot of sky in your picture here, I would recommend going a little earlier when the light is better. Just after sunset when the sky is blue will look real nice with the full sky.

thanks for the feedback. it was a 5 sec exposure and mounted on a tripod on the sand. what specific portion of the image indicates camera shake to you?

thanks.

Which lens did you use for this? I love shooting the skyline and find it hard to beat the 50mm 1.8II.

i actually used the XSi kit lens 18-55 IS @ 30mm. I took others that night with a tammy 28-75 2.8 which came out nice as well. Chose to post this one simply because it had the best reflections on the water.

Hey Chuckie, took a look at your website, great captures. I have some similar shots from Balboa Park and I some that I think you were shooting from Seaport Village. Nice work!

Thanks for the compliment. Most of the time when I shoot from Coronado i use the 50mm 1.8II. That lens is ridiculously sharp for the price and turns out some awesome night shots. This photo i stitched together was taken with that lens.

very cool man, that pano has been on my "things to shoot" list. At this point in time I have no experience stitching so I'll tackle that when the time comes.

Nice one! I like it as-is, with the sky (and stars) and all. Only thing is, it might be my slanted viewpoint, but it looks like the image is falling down towards the left - seems crooked to me.
