Used so there's no directions with it, although its a no brainer. There is a button on the back, left hand side next to the battery cover that I don't know what it does. Also, when you turn the camera around and look at the lens end, Big Ed has a little flip switch that you could presumably operate with your pinky that I don't know what that does either.

Heavy sucka!

That switch is to turn on/off the vertical shutter release.

You mention a button on the back. If I am thinking the same place, that is the slot that the cable comes out if you put the main's adaptor into the battery compartment. If it's another location, ignore my drivel.

You're from Bemidji? I remember wearing a red and black jacket made by Bemidji Woolen Mills about 30 years ago. Is that company still around?

Big Ed = BG-ED, the battery grip for the D30, D60 and 10D. Rather dull, really.

I am curious as to what Big Ed is, but am more curious as to why suddenly people are responding to a 2 year old thread!

Yeah, blame it on that guy. I was just following suit. Big Ed=BG-E3, that is sort of lame...

ROFLMAO

Now I didn't even notice the start date on this thread until your post.....

I want to know the same thing, what brought this out of the depths of time...

I confess! Sorry about that! I didn't even check the date of the original post. What is the penalty for bad forum etiquette?

Not that it really matters, but the designation is BG-ED3 (pg 176 of the 10D Manual)

Jon, Is there a way to "autolock" threads like this so they can be viewed but not replied to after some appropriate "time to die" determined by Pekka and the moderators?

if a thread is still relevant, why lock it?

Death by electric chair is one thing, but my giving up my 645 and all of the lenses that go with it is cruel and unusual punishment, don't you think!
