Fast moving community?

We all know this is the best photography forum. And we sometimes complain that due to new members it is moving too fast, posts dropping of to page 2 and 3 in a few days etc.....

I was just over at another board that is all about Disney. I started a post and from the time I had clicked on submit and I was back in the new posts list (max 30 seconds) 21 new posts had been posted! Thats a fast moving forum :shock:

Hey Tommy, between here and the Disney forum, how do you ever get any work done? :-)

Thats why the search function comes in handy. Assuming (in terms of these 4 information forums anyways) everyone posts legit and strongly backed information or questions and u get a few answers then thats perfect. So then others looking for the same thing will search it, can read the small replies and if they need any additional help they just bump the post. It simply adds to our information "database". Those posts at the disney board are mostly people freakin out before there vacation trying to plan everything to the teeth which is not something u can really do in photography, so i dont think the posts will get that fast.

I dont know if I make any sense, but what im trying to say is there are advantages and disadvantages to a fast moving forum. POTN has more advanatges then Disneys board though.

Me too, 99% of the time here I use that. This way I don't have to move from forum to forum and look for interesting topics. What that list and respond to whatever gets Your interest.

On the disney board though that list moves way too fast, there individual browsing of forums is required.

The firefox surport forums are like that, My thread there went back 30-40 pages every 24hours.

That IMO is simply to fast, and theres no way in hell you could ever moderate that many posts per day in a single forum.
