Hi,

Over the past year on our website I've had the 'Porta' flash gallery. I found it to be a lovely tool, very easy to use and looks tidy enough on the site. I now feel it's starting to look abit dated, and every website that has a gallery that I stumble across seems to have the same Porta 3x3 grid setup.

After spending a few hours online last night I came across:

http://slideshowpro.net/

I've done some reading, nosied around their forums and viewed many examples and last night paid the £23 (GBP) to get the gallery.

I haven't had chance to play with it properly yet; as for some reason my Flash CS4 threw its dummy out of the pram , probably because of lack of use, haha.

Just wondering if anyone has experience of using this gallery, and if you had any good examples to look at?

Thanks

Hey there Dave!

I've used slideshow pro for my sites and totally love it, it takes a bit of playing around with it to customize it but if you have some flash experience it shouldn't be a problem. Well, I totally recomend it.

Here's my sites, simple but to the point

They also provide a SlideShow plug-in for Lightroom that's pretty easy to use.

I don't have any experience with director but I'm sure it's pretty straight forward. I didn't have any experience with Flash prior to making those websites but the documentation for SSP was pretty straight forward, it did take me forever to figure flash out though.

I've used and implemented Director and Slideshow Pro, both are slick and damned good bits of software and highly customisable if you know ActionScript.

Bang for buck it's the most slick bit o' software available.
