21st of January 2009 (Wed), 11:38
As the Book Team is working hard on the project, we would like to announce the Quote Competition. Quotes will be placed on the Share introduction pages.

We are doing it a little different this year. We will only be using quotes from forum members. Quotes from famous people will not appear in the quotes poll.

Please submit your favorite quotes in this thread. The competition is open for 2 weeks. After that time we will put up a poll for the quotes to be voted on.

Please use the following format for submitting your quotes.

Quote - member's name that made the statement.

A good photograph, like a good painting, speaks with a loud voice and demands time and attention if it is to be fully perceived. An art lover is perfectly willing to hang a painting on a wall for years on end, but ask him to study a single photograph for ten unbroken minutes and he’ll think it’s a waste of time. Staying power is difficult to build into a photograph. Mostly, it takes content. A good photograph can penetrate the subconscious – but only if it is allowed to speak for however much time it needs to get there. - Raplh Gibson

And not only that (which was the state of the art of post processing for his times), but he DID use state of the art cameras (large formats, Hasselblads...). He even worked together with Hasselblad to further improve their cameras!
What a photo-geek he was, indeed! :)

No full time manual is bull**** - when it hunts, it hunts through a whole range like a mofo - and you just lose shots when that happens. Its bokeh sucks too. Sucks hard.
