A Vellux blanket, preferably king size (108" x 90") can make a very usable, non wrinkle background for portraits and pet shots.

The Vellux blankets come in a large variety of colors and are available at many-many locations. They are also pretty inexpensive and can keep you warm on a cold night (just kidding).

Do a Google search for Vellux Blanket and view the web sites of various retailers such as Kohl's, Walmart and J.C. Penny. Each retailer has different colors available, however, I have not found a gray. There are ivory, flax, and light blue colors as well a darker and more vibrant colors available. Using a filter over your BG light will change the colors of the Vellux.

OK, I'll look into that. Thanks. Many, many years ago my first "budget" background was a long piece of white nylon tricot (the stuff that women's slips are made of.) It comes in giant widths at the fabric store, up to 9 feet wide if I remember correctly and it is very inexpensive. Machine washable as well.
