First picture post - please critique...

My best friends new baby...he is about 2 months old..

Colors are good, focus looks good. If anything I would have tried to get more of a straight on shot towards the face.

This works the way it is though. Nicely done.

I agree with ssim I would try to change the angle.

It seems to me that laying down pics are sort of tough, changing to a front angle would have you looking up the nose, you almost have to shoot from overhead, or prop the cute little baby up or have someone holding them.

I think it is a great shot, keep shooting like this - nice use of light. As far as alternative angles, I agree with cactusclay. Don't go shooting up the nostrils...I made that mistake with my niece. It also made her look out of proportion. The other thing would be use the same angle, just rotate the camera to get a different comp. Or, shoot a little wide, and crop later. When your in close, up/down doesn't seem to matter as much.

Babys make great photography subjects!!!! Great photo. The one thing I learned and offer to pass on to you for photos such as these...shoot numerous photos at varied angles and photographing locations. If you can think change location and change position each time you photograph your subjects, you will find yourself creating many pleasing photographs!

Just some advice that was given to me that might help in this instance! Keep up the good work!
