I went and explored a local floating history museum, the USS Hornet, last weekend with my fiance and her boys. I grabbed this shot of the captain's chair while touring the island (control tower).

Excellent shot. Great details.
You have to look at the larger size. You should just replace it with the large size, since that is within the forums limit.

Thanks!
I wasn't sure of the posting limit size so I played it safe and used the smaller size. I edited my post above to reflect the larger size allowed...

Very nice, I love those indoor shots where the outside view through the windows is so nicely exposed.

Well, that is only thanks to the magic of HDR...

I agree, one of the best I have seen. I've been aboard her many times, when she was still commissioned and part of the 7th Fleet. ;)

Nice. You get to see out the windows and you get that nice mechanical shine to the interior details. Thanks.

Joe,
Nicely done!
Can you share details?
How many exposures and what aperture settings?
Did you use a tripod?
What was your editing software?
Thanks

Wow! Thanks for all of the comments! Work had me out of commission for a few days and it was a surprise coming back...
Marty: It was shot in a pretty tight space and I was trying out the Sigma 10-20 that I picked up from another list member recently. The HDR was composed of 3 RAWs shot hand-held at f8/ISO 320. I slammed the three images together using Photomatix and then I layered the original exposures under it in Photoshop CS4 so that I can do spot corrections by brushing through a mask and exposing the layer underneath.
Depending on the image, my workflow can change and I will use a filter to remove noise or I will adjust the color curves somewhere in the process.
Note that I did shoot this one hand-held because of the constraints of available space and time since I was on a tour, but I almost always use a tripod and I recently bought a wireless trigger to minimize image shake.
Heycow: Make the trip over there, it's definitely worth it! After I got home I read the guide pamphlet and I realized I probably missed half of the ship!
Thanks again, everyone, for the compliments!

I found it funny when this pics was recently found by someone who converted for a steampunk wallpaper and then someone else pasted in a vintage looking Captain Kirk. Check it out here:
