:o For some reason I can't go any lower than f8 with my mono lights. I have tried everything and I get a black bar on the right side of my image. (it expands the lower I try to go,, f 4 ect)
-I have 2 cheep lights from ebay (that I've actually gotten good results with at f12) triggered by remote (another cheep ebay find) & -5D with a 24-70L (so I know it's not the camera lol )

I will be very grateful to anyone that can help.

You're probably going over the sync speed of the camera shutter. Check your shutter speed, depending on the camera you need to be 1/200 or less. Are you shooting in aperture priority, so it selects your shutter speed for you? Because you're opening up your aperture, the shutter speed needs to be raised to keep the same exposure.

Read this carefully.

Sounds like you're using the camera in aperture priority. It needs to be in 'M' mode with a max shutter speed of 1/125.
