Hello all,

New to forum, recently purchased A590IS. Wonderful little camera, lots of options I've never seen before at this price.

I'm soliciting opinions on whether it's advisable to use the auto in-camera flash red-eye correction before the camera saves the shots, or better to use software on the computer for this task. I'm leaning toward software correction, because of better control over all variables.

All comments & suggestions welcome and appreciated.

Thanks.

Dunno...

I've used in-camera correction, and not been disappointed. It's probably fine for anything short of a full-blown "professional" portrait shot. It's also way easier to let the camera do it (although not THAT much of a workflow issue in PP).

Regards!
Don

I find it either does a good job, or just leaves it red. Never found one that it tried to fix and did something terrible. If you are worried, just fix them in Picasa afterward.

I have been using Canon's "Zoom Browser" to correct red-eye and it seems to do a pretty good job on most of my attempts.
