I am thinking of buying an XT but I see they have put an aggressive hot filter in these cameras. This would preclude using them for any infrared photography. I doubt if anyone knows of a way to circumvent this but I had to ask.

There was a post about removing the ir filter from a 20D, but that was way scary. I would have to be awful drunk with a double dog dare to try. There is also the 20Da from Canon, a 20D without the filter. This camera might fit your ir needs, but would be hard to use for “normal” photography. You would need ir filters for all your lens.
