View Full Version : LaCrosse Footwear ~ Or Similar Boots

I need a decent, all purpose pair of boots to be used for anything from hiking, to standing around in the cold for hours or even standing in water.

My wellies are uncomfortable for walking long distances and don't cut it in the cold, my hiking boots are great for walking in pretty dry conditions, but that's about it.

I've noticed LaCrosse do pretty decent boots like the following (I've also noted others which are less geared towards winter conditions but just using this as an example);

Would anyone happen to know, or possibly have seen LaCrosse in a UK nationwide store?

If not, I'm more than happy to look at decent alternatives, again these must be available in a store near me (south wales) as I have terrible trouble with sizing.

Looking in the sub £100 range.

Thank You,

I hope you can find them over there. I am an outdoorsman, hunter, and now wildlife photography buff and love my LaCrosse Burly 800 rubber boots.
I routinely wear them for hunting/ hiking in -5 C weather (snow). They are absolutely the most comfortable boot I have ever owned.
They fit like slippers! Ankle tight. They are pricey, but my 1st pair lasted 10 years till the rubber cracked. Good luck.

Beefman ~ Could I ask how wide they are?

It's just that I have very wide/broad feet, so if I can find somewhere in a 100 miles radius, I may be tempted to make the drive.

You've only driven me to look for them even more after your comment ;)

Thank You,

I have pretty wide feet myself...and I find the fit is perfect...no slop. I usually wear 10.5-11 boots...got the size 10...BINGO.

You will not regret getting these boots. I wonder if Cabela's does overseas shipping? They have them. Good luck finding them.:D

Cheers Beefman.

I've been in contact with a family run business, they have the Ice Kings but only upto size 11 - On Monday they will see if they can source size 12.

They are also happy for me to order size 11 and return them if the fit is not correct, so hopefully if all goes well I should have a pair next week :)

If all goes well I'll post the details as so far they seem very helpful.

Cheers

Well, the Ice King Size 12 arrived this afternoon, all I can say is wow - These things are fantastic and they look huge, I feel like bigfoot.

I'm very glad that I went for these things, a bit too long but the perfect width - Like most of my size 12 shoes/boots - But these have a nice fit when tightly tied.

And as Beefman said, these things fit like slippers.

I dealt with a chap name Andy from Greenleaf Outdoor, they were happy to import a size 12 and ship to me, if the size would be incorrect, then they would arrange collection and delivery of an alternate size.

I cannot big this family business up enough, great service all over email - So, if someone in the UK looks at this thread, drop them an email or visit their site;

Thanks for the update....Glad you like them. I too found that the Lacrosse boots seem to oversize by 1/2 size. Good luck.:)
