I am currently enrolled in photography classes, and am fairly new at this. I would love some feedback on how I am doing. I guess I am looking to find out if I am needing to hear, "Crap lady, you need to bag this and find something else to do, Cuz frankly you stink as this whole photography thing!" Here are a couple of pics that I actually took with a point and shoot (Except for the baby feet, I took that with a Canon 40D). Any comments good or bad are welcome.

hmmm quite a few views and no comments. That makes me a bit nervous! :o I am new to this forum...Did I post in the wrong section? Now that I look around I see that maybe I should have posted in the people section instead...if so, sorry about that!

All of the images are excellent. The first image does look a little blown out in the highlights and is totally devoid of any mid-tones. I am not a fan of so much contrast in portraiture - I would rather see some detail.
My video system is set for 1280 x 1024, which is fairly typical. However, in order to see your images I have to scroll left-right to see them all and to read your text. It is better if you post them so that is not necessary.

I really like #2. I think they are all good though.

I agree that #1 is a bit blown out. #2 I would have liked a little more depth of field - at least all of the foot in focus. Love the composition though. #3 - Looks a bit red on my monitor. I wouldn't chop off his fingers or his hand though - general rule is not to crop at joints. And I'd clone out that little piece of wood in the lower right. Overall I like the composition of all the shots!

All three are very nice. I agree with Robert about the first image having blown out highlights.
#3 is fantastic. I think the composition, colors, and lighting are all top notch. Good job!

I like all 3, but the second is my favourite.
As has already been said, the first one is a little blown. I guess this was done to bring more out of the black hair/clothing against the black background. If you selected her face then inverted the selection for the hair and clothing you could have adjusted that alone, and left detail in her face.
Love the second, but a little more DOF would have made all the toes in focus.
The third one is quite good, and i dont mind any slight colour cast as it adds to the warmth. The biggest problem is that you cut the hand and fingers off. You could also afford to lose a bit of space from the top too, by making the gap between the head and top, similar in size to the gap from the elbow to the side. It will look a little more balanced.
