I have a feeder that hangs in front of the living room window from the balcony above using a single fish line. A variety of birds are swarming in throughout the day which has me refilling the feeder about once every week. I like seeing birds from my living room but really would like to get pictures of them as well. I think it's a fair trade off since it's costing me a few bucks each time I fill the feeder  The problem is once the birds land the feeder wobbles and even sometimes spins in circles.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and the best way to go about fixing the wobble & spinning. I picked up a few steel stakes and going to attempt to secure the feeder from two opposite perches to the ground. I was also thinking of using 2 lines from up top at like 45 degree angles from the feeder to help keep it stable.
I'm sure the birds will also prefer a secure feeder. Sometimes it spins so fast they just hang on and eventually fly away without getting any seeds  Some seem to have a technique down that only gives a wobble but still no chance for pictures :(
