Everyone has said that you'll take tons of pictures of your first kiddo and by the time the second one comes around you will have forgotten where the camera is!
all taken with my Canon DRebel, 50mm F1.8 at ISO 800 and 1600
Here's the lump smiling in his bouncer:
F1.8 1/125 ISO 800

His mom went to a baby shower this weekend so dad had baby duty. Everything went reasonably well, we played all day!
F9 1/50 ISO 1600

I think he's already tired of me and my camera!

Very nice, have you tried any noise reduction software - really helps with the higher ISO's There are some demo's and freebies on line - try a Google search. Actually opposite was true for me - got my first digi cam when my daughter (child # 2) was born - now that I have replaced it with "real" equipment - both kids have to watch out!

I have tried Neatimage and noise ninja. Both do a very good job of noise reduction, but I haven't ponied up the cash to get the real deal yet. Partly because it seems that I tend ot over-process my pictures and with noise reducers they tend to look 'plasticky' to me.
Do you find the noise intrusive? I actually ran the neat image on the 'serious' pic, but I thought I left it at a good balance of noise vs over processing.

No, not really - just more obvious on the last shot with bigger background. Know what you mean by plastiky and haven't purchassed one myself yet either!

I've thought about making one out of a giant A-frame and garage door springs for a 225lb weight limit! Think of the fun you could have in that thing!!!

Take a look at Noiseware at http://www.imagenomic.com
The 'Community edition' is totally free.
I really like your shots, and your son obviously was having fun.
Best regards,
Andy
