Yes, get the latest update from the adobe site. That link above looks like it goes to a digital negative page (I could be wrong), you need the camera raw page, which you find thru support.

Ok Tim, but that link has me confused? It doesn't say anything about Adobe elements 3. It's a link to Photoshop CS. Which is $169.00U.S. Elements 3 is on sale for $50.00 less which is a substantial difference in price. If it can do the same thing then that's all i need, right? manny

Like I said, that link's wrong, go to the Adobe site. It's easy, I went to adobe.com, hit supports, downloads, elements, and this popped up.

http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=40&platform=Windows

It supports most camera raw formats, but not the XT quite yet. Raw Shooter 1.1.1 supports the XT.

BTW, $169 is the upgrade price for PSCS if you already own it - regular price is around $650.

Elements 3 supported my D30 right out of the box without any further downloads, as Tim says above look at the links to see the list of supported cameras.

ECG you said you were after info....that link I provided gives info about DNG with RAW files, but also links to all the relevant pages you might be able to extract info from, i.e compatability lists, upgrades, etc. Apologies for the confusion.

If it's just a compatability list you're after follow the links to:

http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html

As you say, this is about PSCS only, which is why I provided the link to the page which also talks about PE3.

Confused? You will be!

There is also an adobe forum dedicated to Elements. You can get there via adobeforums.com.
As far as the RAW processing goes, the Elements, as are many things in Elements, is slightly stripped down, but quite adequate for most uses. The plugins seem to be interchangeable between Elements and CS, though Adobe lists them as CS plugins. In my experience, they install in Elements by following the same instructions as for CS.

The Camara RAW plugin for PSCS is the same as for PSE3. (I just installed mine just the other day.) You will want to use the updated Camera RAW (available on the Adobe website). Version 2.3 came with my copy of PSE3, but it is 2.4 that supports the 20D and *.CR2 files.

You may also consider using Canon's DPP converter. (It has level curves that PSE3 does not support.)

Why Canon is shipping new 20Ds with PSE2 is beyond me--except for the fact that 3.0 is Mac or PC specific (not one disk for either). I'm using 3.0 for the Mac. Nice improvements over 2.0.

PS elements for mac OS X worked without any additional downloads to support my D-Rebel in RAW.

PS elements for mac OS X worked without any additional downloads to support my D-Rebel in RAW.That's not surprising, the D-Rebel is supported in the version of Camera Raw that ships with PS CS and PS Elements 3.0 (Camera Raw version 2.3), on Windows as well as on Mac.

When you want support for newer cameras such as the 20D and 1Ds Mark II, you need to download the update to version 2.4.
