Hi everyone! Lacking any sort of real musical talent myself, I decided to tag along with my friends band when they played a set at a local bar on St.Pattys Day, and be sort of a 'groupie'. I brought my trusty S1 along and took hundreds of shots, some with flash, some without. To my delight and suprise, some of the shots came out pretty well, especially considering the horrible lighting and cramped stage area.
My question is this: Would I get better results with a DSLR? Can a DSLR handle these types of situations better? Am I thinking about this too much??
Any advice/critques would be much appreciated!

Well, as one who shoots such things for money sometimes, I'd say these examples are soft, not well composed, not taken at an interesting time, have a horrible color cast and I thoroughly believe you can do a lot better ... I mean YOU! Try shooting from a tripod. Try shooting standing on a chair or ladder. Get close. Get far away. You can do a lot better. Go look at pictures in the People section ... there are several folks sharing pictures of this ilk ... experiment. And get the band to work with you or don't shoot them ... it is hard enough if they cooperate, but impossible if they don't!
