Shooting through the window is normally not recommended but I bet it's cold there.
You're lucky to have such birds to photograph.
Here in Scotland all I can manage are pigeons, starlings, sparrows and maybe, if I'm lucky, a couple of tits.
Now, what good is a big lens for a couple of tits, now and then. :roll:

I'm dying to catch some of the cardinals we've got on our feeder, my lens won't reach that far tho and if I go outside those darn birds take off. =oP
