Has anyone used software to pre-tag a photos EXIF data with geo data and have flickr automatically pick it up? Im trying but have problems.
Firstly i HAVE set the "auto import location data" box in my account and have checked its ticked.
Im using Geosetter for windows (http://www.geosetter.de/en/) to tag the photos using google maps and it appears to be working.
For example my photos have the keywords:
geo:lon=-3.20585936; geo:lat=51.78422494; geotagged;
added to them by the program. After uploading to flickr though these photos aren't tagged at all and i have to still do it manually via the map. On looking at the photos it IS recognising the tags are there as "Machine tags" field appears and clicking on it shows them.
Any idea why this isnt working? Is flickr expecting or looking for a different format on the geodata?
Reason for doing this in advance is (i) GPS track logger and geoseter will save me lots of work and (ii) Flickrs yahoo maps are utterly worthless for lots of areas anyway and horribly inaccurate or lacking in enough detail to place.
To highlight the problem this entire set (http://www.flickr.com/photos/whitcomberd/sets/72157612958429492/) from today is tagged but not picked up.
FWIW i tried the flickr desktop uploader (new one) and the web one.
