i haven't seent he colour but it seems to work in b&w but i think the conversion is a bit dull imo...im not good with b&w so i cant advise but it just needs a little something...

Perhaps a more extreme angle with a shallower DoF would make the shot more interesting, along with more of a of pop. Do you have Lightroom or Photoshop? In Lightroom, you could experiment with the clarity setting and in Photoshop, adjusting the Levels and Curves to get more impact would likely help this photo.
