I got my reply about a strap so fast, I thought I'd try my luck at another question :)

I'm looking for suggestions on a bag/backpack for the 20d with a 24-70 lens, a G2 & it's wide angle lens with future room for a couple more L lenses.

Can someone help with this? Thanks!!

What backpack or other type do you recommend for the Tamron 28-75, the 70-200 F4L (+hoods), 50 1.8, 18-55 kit lens, 420Ex flash, 20D, along with few batteries, cards? This is likely to be my range for some time. Would value some advice.

The best bet is to go into a local store and find one you like the look of. It's hard to choose a bag on the net.

That's almost the exact list of equipment in my Tamrac Expedition 4 (the only difference is I don't have a flash in mine - yet (it's on the way)). Very tight fit, and therefore my recommendation above for the Expedition 5. Always buy a bag a little bigger than you think you need.

Thanks HJMinard. I confess to having taken lots of advice from this forum, hence my equipment inventory. I'll look at the 5.

no kidding
i have looked at bags for hours online to no avail.
so on out trip to the big city this weekend the plan is to hit as many camera shops as possible to get hands on with some gear. from bags to lenses to filters to tripods and heads.
hope it a productive day.

I have the Lowepro Mini trekker Classic and I have in it right now, 300D, 70-200 F4, kit lens, Sigma Super 500 DG, batteries, cards, charger, all the hoods, tripod mount, 3 filters, cleaning kit and all the manuals, and until a friend borrowed my not used Tamron 75-300, it was in there too. I love this backpack, plenty of room and really comfortable. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=279323&is=REG

I love my Lowe Pro Micro Trekker 200. Best sight-unseen purchase so far.

I got my Tamarac Expedition 5 from B&H... I was looking at the Expedition 4, but decided to go slightly bigger... like most, I plan on adding to what I already own & want room to grow. Here's a pic of the Expedition 5 with my 10D, 70-200 F4L & 28-135 F3.5-5.6IS (both with hoods attached backwards), & I have a spot for my Pro1 & 420Ex... As you can see there is one whole side that's empty (for now). The pockets on the front are well laid out for CF cards, batteries, etc. It's a very well thoughtout backpack IMO. I bought it without seeing it in person 1st... and thus far no regrets. I do have to admit, it's a little heavy when compared to a regular backpack used for school books/camping, but it's because it's very well padded to protect what's inside.

I can recommend the Lowepro Mini Trekker AW - this bag is extremely well made and holds all my equipment very well : 10D, Pentax ME with 50mm f/1.7 lens attached, EF 70-200 f/2.8L, EF 50mm f/1.8 MkII, EF 100mm f/2.8 macro, Tamron 28-75 f/2.8, Tokina 17mm f/3.5 ATX Pro, 380EX flash, a spare batteries, memory cards, filters, flash diffusers and other small accessories. In the front pocket I have a small flighlight, a compass, pens and notebook, bunch of business cards etc.

One disadvantage though - it gets EXTREMELY heavy with all the equipment packed in ! ;)

Is there a size limit for hand baggage in the U.S.A.as there is in the U.K ? The Lowepro Computrecker just fits the U.K. sizeing cradle & we are limited to 7kg.Otherwise it's consigned to the hold !

Another vote for the Expedition 5. It has plenty of room and is well padded. We went away in November and this was my carry on that was able to fit under the seat. Also has plenty of pockets in & out.

I have it for my kit below, and also room for my Sony 717 and flash.

NowI just need to get a 70-200 and a wide angle prime
