I have been shooting weddings and formal event with a freind who is a pro.and he has asked me to do some weddings for him.i have done several with him but they were outdoors.I know that I will end up shooting indoors with no flash at some point,so i would like to get better glass.but i also would like to get a wildlife zoom.this is where i need help to choose from canon 24-70 2.8,70-200`2.8,100-400sigma 70-200 2.8,50-500,tamron 28-75 2.8, or I may need to skip the long glass at this time.thanks scott

Why not talk to your pro friend and ask his opinion? He'll have plenty of experience that should help you out. We can help too but why not take advantage of local resources? :)

tim,I did and he said 24-70,70-200is,but i was trying to get a long zoom.I should have asked would the sigma 70-200 and tamron be good for this or should I get the canon.I also thought about renting one of the lens when I needed it and get 100-400 and 24-70.he also said that any one of them would be good but you would need to learn there limits as with the glass i already have.thanks scott

I guess it depends on your style inside. Are you going to get nice and close, in which case the 50mm F1.8 is great value. If you're going to be across the room get the 70-200 F2.8, either Sigma or even better the Canon IS version.

For wildlife i've read the 100-400L is good.
