Shamu Surfers

Finally got a chance to see these "ginormous" killer whales during my spring break trip. These whales can put up a show. I think I had more fun than my 10 yr old nephew:)

Nice shots. I was there late last year. It's a pretty fun place. The dolphin shows were great, too.

thanks for the comments, saw the dolphin show also before this one and might post it up in a new thread and I agree it's a great warm up show. They actually have a sign on each rows that says soakzone area, but I ignored them after calculating the probability of chances having a whale jumping in front of us. Well I miscalculated and almost got my rebel wet after these following shots.:D My back is soaked after these shots.

The ones of the whale jumping out of the water are terrific. I never thoguth they could jump that high.

Yeah at Seaworld You should take the soak warnings serious :shock: At the shamu shows I always go way back and up. This way I can also shoot all the wet people :lol: Like this one (http://photo.klein-jensen.dk/ee/photo.php?photo=699) or this one (http://photo.klein-jensen.dk/ee/photo.php?photo=711), on the last one You can see how high up the water is splashed. Photos are from Seaworld Orlando and I hope I can present a lot of new photos in may when I return from my holiday on Orlando.

They identify the "splash zone". It should be better identified as the "Get you soaked to the bone zone". But you were warned.
