Let me now what you think, The only thing I think I would change is the apeture so his nose is in focus.

His eyes are still green in the black and white, very cool. Not a bad shot, the hair is kind of distacting though.

Yeah the DOH is to shallow, I was shooting a B-ball game and I didn't change the apeture. should have at least changed it enough to get his hair and nose in focus.

Back off a bit and get more of the face in the frame. And avoid the dead on look, try for a slight side angle. Don't worry about the color tricks until you have the composition down pat. You might want to check out a book on portraiture and try some examples. He looks like he would make a good model. Talk to him about him while you take the picture. If you do you will get a better tranfer of emotion out the eyes.
