I'm working on semi-invisible. It takes quite a bit of energy, so I'm hoping that it makes up for not going to the gym yesterday.
Yepyepyep! It counts :D
I AM VISIBLE!! LOOK AT ME!!
Aw, we could never miss you!
oh snap. pffffft
:lol::lol:
Finished session 2 Tuesday. Session 1 I lost all the holiday weight, session 2 a couple more pounds, I don't think 1 100 cal beer substitutes well for 10 10 cal beverages. I'm staying with the same food stuff through Sunday and starting session 3 on Monday. This will get me through the big game party on Sunday and get me on rotation so my cheat days hit the weekend.
Cool flames coming out of mid-air, I like.:D
Good luck on your plan, Becky. I am struggling a bit with my no-plan plan (other than the gym) So, have given myself permission to drink all the beer and eat as many nachos as I can handle on Sunday
Yeah? I've been working on a special effect *blows hunter green flame inside of purple flame*
I just didn't want anyone to miss the fact that I was here :)
Not possible!
anyone seen Terri today?
Yay! It is working!
I am having to adjust to Eli being more snuggly. Lately all he wants to do is lie with me on the sofa so I can scratch his belly. that is all well and good until he starts snoring.
That is cute. LOL!

Back to partial invisibility, hoping to ward off interuptions so I can chip away at this pile on my desk.

F.Y.I. Couple members probably have to call maintenance sometime in the near future. Those little green lights don't glow forever, sometimes they need to be replaced. Maybe a couple taps on the screen will resurrect some of them.

What kind of thermostat is it Tiff, I'm sure a simple Google search can tell us how to make the thing work.

That's not right. The system in your house is different than the system in a school. The fan should blow for 1-2 minutes after the heat or A/C kicks stops. And that's it. If it running more than that your system has an issue with the shut off switch.
Seriously....there is something wrong with the limit switch...once the desired temperature is reached....the fan should only blow long enough to cool the heat exchanger.

I think it's the adjustment thing. For us, not having a dog and then suddenly having a dog was a huge adjustment. For you, having a well behaved dog to an untrained one was as well.
Buzzackly! It takes work, time and patience, but it's so worth it when everything finally works out eventually.
Now, if I can just get Kitteh and Little Foot to stop trying to kill each other, this might be a peaceful home again...

lol, you remember how I disliked the grip so much on the Xt that I wouldn't buy one for my other cameras? Well I like this one. It's really sturdy. Man it's a heavy setup though. The D300 (no flash) + the grip and the 70-200 + a D700 setup is going to be too heavy for weddings. I'll have to go gripless for that.
I DO like having a portrait orientation again though. And it's nice to have 8fps back!

does anyone need a canon off camera sync cord 2 for their flash?
It's the last thing I found I had from my canon system. Works with 430 and 580 ex. (for flash brackets)
it's last year's model. Canon sells the current one (cord 3) for $60. I'll sell this one for $35 shipped to anyone here. (it's like new, comes with box etc) & I'll throw in the bracket (it's red) for an extra $15 if you want the whole thing. I never use it either.

Question for the geeks amongst us. I want to add additional hard drives to my computer. I have a 120gb and a 320gb HDD on one IDE cable (the 120 is for OS/software, the 320 is storage). The dvd drive is on the second IDE port.
I would like to add 1 or 2 more internal drives for backups. The MB has locations for me to add two SATA drives. Will that work? For some reason I am thinking that the system won't see all of the drives or it won't see them correctly.

Chris, did you see the pics I posted of Maggie in the hotel room? How's he going to see them if you left 'em hanging on the walls of the hotel room?
Somebody sent me this story in an email this week:
I rescued a human today.
Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor peering apprehensively into the kennels. I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help her.
I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn't be afraid. As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view from a little accident I had in the back of my cage. I didn't want her to know that I hadn't been walked today. Sometimes the overworked shelter keepers get too busy and I didn't want her to think poorly of them.
As she read my kennel card I hoped that she wouldn't feel sad about my past. I only have the future to look forward to and want to make a difference in someone's life.
She got down on her knees and made little kissy sounds at me. I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort her. Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship. A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to assure her that all would be well.
Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so bright that I instantly jumped into her arms. I would promise to keep her safe. I would promise to always be by her side. I would promise to do everything I could to see that radiant smile and sparkle in her eyes.
I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor. So many more are out there who haven't walked the corridors. So many more to be saved. At least I could save one.
I rescued a human today.
Awwww. . . .

What's the plural of mongoose. mongooses or mongeese?
lol, you remember how I disliked the grip so much on the Xt that I wouldn't buy one for my other cameras? Well I like this one. It's really sturdy. Man it's a heavy setup though. The D300 (no flash) + the grip and the 70-200 + a D700 setup is going to be too heavy for weddings. I'll have to go gripless for that.
I DO like having a portrait orientation again though. And it's nice to have 8fps back!
Here's what I look like in my full photojournalist getup:

I have the 40D with the 100-400 slung over my right shoulder and the 20D with the 28-75 on the other. The bag (Think Tank Change-Up) holds a spare lens, usually the 14mm, batteries, two bottles of water, etc. It also has pouches for CP filters and a flash. I could also carry the 70-200 if I choose in the pouch reserved for the 100-400.
does anyone need a canon off camera sync cord 2 for their flash?
It's the last thing I found I had from my canon system. Works with 430 and 580 ex. (for flash brackets)
it's last year's model. Canon sells the current one (cord 3) for $60. I'll sell this one for $35 shipped to anyone here. (it's like new, comes with box etc) & I'll throw in the bracket (it's red) for an extra $15 if you want the whole thing. I never use it either.
That I already have...

I've also have one of the Urban Disguise 50 satchels. I should have gotten the next larger size because my laptop is a bit of a tight fit in it.

Today....I found that the 100-400mm does not focus well in high contrast situations  I have some shots that it crapped out on the focus today.

does anyone need a canon off camera sync cord 2 for their flash?
It's the last thing I found I had from my canon system. Works with 430 and 580 ex. (for flash brackets)
it's last year's model. Canon sells the current one (cord 3) for $60. I'll sell this one for $35 shipped to anyone here. (it's like new, comes with box etc) & I'll throw in the bracket (it's red) for an extra $15 if you want the whole thing. I never use it either.
STOP IT!!!STOP IT!!!STOP IT!!!STOP IT!!!STOP IT!!!STOP IT!!!
Oh, so tempted. Especially since the bracket is red. :D

Holy gear batman.
Permie, nice kona rant.
Puddles, LMAO!

Did it crap out or just focus on the wrong thing? Where you on a single focus point etc etc?

I think the focus crapped out on certain shots. On single focus point focused on the subject. I'll post some 100% crops as soon as I convert to jpg.

I meant to tell you the other day that the picture with your boy and you in the grey beanie turned out really good. I think the focus crapped out on certain shots. On single focus point focused on the subject. I'll post some 100% crops as soon as I convert to jpg.
I thought it was odd that you said it didn't focus in high contrast. That's when it should focus the best.
