It has a bit of a spooky feel. That looks like the side of a skull on the marker in the foreground on the right.

I agree it has a very spooky feel to it. Is that really a skull to the right? Sure looks like one.

Given the apparent age of the primary subject stone, it would not surprise me if that's a skull.

Freemasons used Skull and Crossbones centuries before pirates did.
