Got my SLR on Friday, keep finding excuses to go out shooting!
I bought a Manfrotto 785B tripod at lunch today so it seemed only fair to give it a proper test with some long HDR exposures.
Chuffed to bits with this camera, very happy with the shots I'm getting out of it.

nice shots, now all you need to do is straighten them up a little! :-D

Great set and love all 3.. might possibly work better with a slightly cool WB?

Hmm yes, they are probably fairly true light-wise as it's all sodium lighting, but I just noticed the 30D was set on the wrong WB setting. Got all the RAWs so I'll have another look at them now :)

What are you using editing wise? :-)

Nice set!
Surprisingly good for someone who just bought their first SLR last weekend and goes straight into night HDR! Unusual, but great effort never the less.
I like the rusty second shot just as it is, quite theatrical.

Lightroom and Photomatix. Just redone #2 with a cooler temperature. Interesting how the different temperature light sources have come out! Think I prefer the previous one from a purely aesthetic point of view, but all interesting tinkering with settings to see what comes out :)

Thanks :) I'm a black hole for knowledge when I turn myself to something new, I spent hours consuming information from here before the camera arrived so had a good headstart.

Have you tried the HDR process in CS3? Would be interesting to compare, don't you think?

Lightroom is awesome, just play till you get the results you like!

Not used Photoshop since university, I don't even remember which version now :) I'll have a look.
No particular reason for doing night HDR shots to start with, other than to try out the tripod and learn my way around the auto bracketing and mirror lockup functions.

I think the last one is the best. What HDR to me is all about. I didn't even notice the stars in the first render, and in the the last one, they are clear, well lit and sharp. :)
